i quited cuz the electricity in germany is so freaking expensive. greetings from the ESL DC Team ;)We where place 1 in europe. But the european union cheated and destroyed the boinc database with their "european sience grid" – witch is a multi billion DC supercomputer grid.

    kinda unfair ;)

Do they sell the parts they use and receive from companies for a discounted price? Given it is completely free to them.

I run WCG (a client of BOINC) on my computer, which consists of an E5 2658 v3 (engineering sample I acquired for $158 instead of the $1800+ retail price). In total, my build cost me $650, which got me a good computer, even if I had to run a GT 710 for my GPU. I just wish I had a better GPU for running other BOINC clients. Thanks for increasing awareness of BOINC and other distributing platforms. :)

For the cost of that machine, could you not build 3 x normal machines and optimize output per USD . Or help to science pr USD.

I wish I had enough money to build a badass computer for others to use but I can't even afford an enthusiast grade PC for me to use hahaha

How about a realistic update? Something for the guy that wants to build an inexpensive box that can sit in the corner, run 24/7, plug a monitor in once a week to check on it, for less than the cost of your bullshit got everything for free build.
